If you use a friend and something goes wrong you will spoil the friendship.

You may feel that you have an obligation to use the friend or family member and you do not know how to tell them you won’t be using them.

Tell them the truth – say you don’t want to risk spoiling the relationship by mixing business and pleasure, so to avoid that risk you have chosen someone you don’t know but who does come highly recommended.
