Why you shouldn't use high-profile agents

High profile Agents are very skilled at promoting themselves – Unfortunately good self promotion skills don’t necessarily translate into a good sale for you.

Ask yourself this question: who is getting promoted here... me or the agent?

Some high profile agents are excellent, but consider these points.

  • They usually have a lot of listings, which means they have divided loyalties
  • Their time allocation for you is less due to their work load
  • They often have helpers less skilled than themselves and you usually end up dealing with the monkey and not the organ grinder.
  • They might sell a lot of property – but are those transactions all at top dollar or is the agent simply pushing numbers through in order to earn as much as possible, and fund their personal profile campaigns. Often with the advertising funds you provide them with.
  • Lots of sales does not mean high sales prices.
